The offshore fishing has been great in Naples, FL as well as the weather. We have fished everyday this week on half and fullday trips. The red grouper bite has been consistent with best catches on fullday trips 25-30 miles. Big goliaths and barracudas have been chewing near local wrecks. Along with permit and the occasional cobia.

Its been a great week fishing offshore this week in Naples,Florida. Most trips have been half days and with red grouper open that has been the main target species.Lots of action and fish for dinner. The big kings are still around and on the same hard bottom we are fishing for grouper. Permit and cudas around the local wrecks along with big goliaths to play tug-o-war.

The fishing has been red hot and the weather is getting that way too. Big kings are still around along with some big sharks and barracudas. The permit have started to show especially on the farther offshore structures. I fished with one of our best customers Pete Lyons and family today and had a blast. Our junior anglers Olivia and Jackson had the rods bent non stop, with 9 year old Jackson catching and landing his personnel best a 52″ 40-50lb cobia and having it mounted through Gray Taxidermy.

There have been some big sharks mixed in with them as well as big Goliath groupers. The bottom fishing has been productive with mixed bags of lane/mangrove snapper, porgies, grunts and trigger fish.

I fished a fullday trip with a great customer and the gulf was a solid 3-5 ft but the fishing was great. Stopped and loaded the well with pinfish and pigfish then pushed through the sloppy conditions to wreck to target amber jacks and we weren’t let down.It was non stop rod bendin action as we ran through our live well of baits on aj’s.Tried to muscle up a goliath but broke off the only chances we had and seas layed off for the ride home.

Its been a warmer then usual February and the offshore fishing in Naples, Florida has been great. Lots of action with both red and gag grouper even though it is closed they are still a great fish to catch. Plenty of snapper and porgies to take home for the fryin pan. The kingfish have shown up but are farther offshore on 3/4 and fullday trips. If weather stays warm they will move in closer and the nearshore bite will become hot action. Cobia should began to show up more as well with spanish macks and the goliath grouper bite will pick up. Which our the largest fish we catch in the southern gulf and will test the skill and tackle.

I fished a full day trip Sun. with four good anglers and we crushed the grouper before the closure. Loaded the well with bait and headed out to the first drop. Tide was screaming up the anchor line on first couple of drops. Once it slowed it was game on as we boated 13 big reds and released8 big gags, plus porgies and some nice mangos. Weather was great and seas like a lake.

Fished Sat. and Sun. on full day trips out to 30 mile and the grouper bite was great both trips. Landed red grouper to 27″ and released many big gags due to closure to 36″. Also caught big porgie’s and some mangrove snappers. Was a great way to end the year and start a new one.

We were booked up solid for this weekend and the weather cooperated as well as the fish. All the trips were offshore and snapper were our targets. Landed lots of species from porgies to triggerfish, mangrove and lane snapper, keeper gag and red grouper.Unfortunatly gag grouper is closed but there were plenty of other fish that made it to the fryin pan. Thanks
